StrategicHumanCapital

Strategic Human Capital – HE4G × Conférence des grandes écoles

Data to help higher education prepare graduates for a fast-changing world of work.

In partnership with the Conférence des grandes écoles (CGE).

Why it matters

Skills needs are changing faster than ever, driven by new technologies, new professions and the ecological and industrial transitions. The gap is widening between the skills taught and those actually used at work. Institutions need objective tools to steer how their programmes evolve.

SHC project

Strategic Human Capital

A data-driven project analysing graduate career paths and how well programmes match labour-market needs.

A proven method

A pilot study with ETH Zurich (October 2024 – March 2025) validated the method by mapping the career paths of ETH graduates and benchmarking them against other leading engineering schools.

What participating schools receive

A gap analysis between their programmes and the needs of the job market.

Tailored recommendations to align their programmes with strategic industrial and technological needs.

Collective benchmarks: aggregated, anonymised results to inform reflection across the sector.

A framework of trust

Data shared by schools remains their exclusive property. HE4G acts as data controller under the GDPR, with a commitment to neutrality and non-commercial use. Only aggregated, anonymised results are published, after validation by a joint HE4G–CGE steering committee.

Who is involved

Launched in partnership with the Conférence des grandes écoles, SHC already brings together around ten member schools in its first phase, starting with engineering schools before opening to management and specialised schools.
